NYSPRA promotes best practices in the field of educational communications and offers support, information and proven ideas for building and strengthening a successful communications program.  

Why join NYSPRA? 
With nearly 30 years of experience, NYSPRA is known for providing members with practical and proactive approaches to school communications. Whether you are an office or one or part of a team, a savvy PR veteran or a newcomer to the field, NYSPRA offers relevant strategies and resources tailored to meet your needs. 

NYSPRA knows education and the challenges you face. From breaking news to crisis communications, to ever evolving state and national standards, schools are put to the test every day, making a strong school communications program is more important than ever.

Networking - With more than 150 members statewide, NYSPRA offers local support and opportunities for sharing right around the corner!

Professional Recognition - Put your best work to the test. Each year, NYSPRA conducts one of the largest communications contests in the country. Winning submissions are displayed at the annual New York State School Boards’ Association Convention.

Member Resources
Professional Development -- Take advantage of local, state and even national workshops and seminars, focusing on school communications. 

Conference Stipends -- NYSPRA awards an annual stipend to help members and their school districts defray the costs of attending professional conferences. 

Partnerships -- NYSPRA connects members with a variety of educational and public relations organizations. For more than 10 years, NYSPRA has forged partnerships with the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA). 
Annual Membership Dues
Individual memberships are 
$40 per year.
Membership in NYSPRA is from July 1 to June 30.

(for up to 3 individuals from one organization) are $90 per year.
